About me

aboutme

Hi there!  I’m Angela and I have loved reading ever since I knew how to do it!

Seriously, my best memories have involved books and reading.  I was a latch key kid of the ’80s and I loved it, it gave me time to myself just to read.

We had one little bookcase in my house (because my parents were not big readers) and I practically memorized the books on the shelves.

I’m not kidding, I even loved the encyclopedias in those days (the internet of the ’80s)

I can’t even imagine if we would have had e-readers and internet and all the options we have now back then.  I would have been in paradise.

I remember as a kid getting the Scholastic papers that the teachers would hand out and I would dream about what books I would pick out.

Although my mom wasn’t a big reader she was very supportive in buying me books so she would let me pick out a few titles every time the sheet came out. The day they came in I would be on cloud 9, KNOWING I was taking home new books!

Between the new books and the public library, I started my own bookcase and my dad brought home a tall brown one and I loved filling it!

“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island and best of all, you can enjoy these riches every day of your life.”  Walt Disney

If you told me 10 years ago that I would be writing a blog about my biggest passion I wouldn’t have believed it.  To be able to have a job writing about books and reading, something that I love so much would have been too good to be true but here I am!

What I am most excited about is sharing what I love with you!  I want to help you take the overwhelm out of your reading life.

If you long to read more,  I’m here to help you do it.  Maybe you need tips on getting more reading time in with a busy schedule or finding a great book list or learning to navigate your reading life with your tech products (such as Alexa or Kindle).

I will also be sharing ideas on how to get the most out of your library resources and some ideas for your children as well.

I homeschooled all three of my children and I made books a HUGE part of our curriculum.

You can fit more reading into your life too and I’m here to help you do it!

A LITTLE ABOUT ANGELA:

Besides loving to read I am a wife and a mother.  I have been married for 28 years and have three children.  My youngest is 18 so I am pretty much done as far as child-rearing but not done with being a mother, that will never go away.

I am a Kentucky girl and I love where I live!  I live in the northern part of the state which isn’t far from Cincinnati, OH so I get to enjoy both states and truly feel my heart belongs to each one,  I get to enjoy the beauty of  Kentucky and still eat Cincinnati Chili and enjoy a Bengals game.

I love to write and have had several blogs over the years. I have been a contributing author to several other sites as well. I have also worked with many brands throughout the years and am happy to talk about new partnerships.

I read this last spring/summer and it just seems l I read this last spring/summer and it just seems like the perfect warm weather read! In a small town, a disgraced baseball player seeks refuge from the media and meets Evvie who is also trying to forget the past! I didn't find the book to be full of exciting moments or big events. My favorite thing about it was its charm and warmth. I love the small town , the slow burn realistic romance and the characters!
